12-year-old Ari inherits his grandfather’s unspoiled lakeside land and cabin. But his aunt and father want to sell it all to luxury hotel developers.

It’s bittersweet: Ari’s beloved grandfather has died, but he’s left Ari an amazing gift – the inheritance of his log cabin and all the land he owned. Tucked into a small lakeside community, the cabin and its land are unusual, full of secrets to discover…and very, very marketable. With the family’s money troubles, the only sensible option from his dad and aunt’s point of view is to sell it at a prime price to a luxury resort developer.

As the grown-ups proceed with the paperwork, Ari sets about discovering everything his new property has to offer. Hidden beaches, forest trails, locked doors – and even an extraordinary (and exasperating) new friend who introduces him to a world into which he sees himself just…fitting. Not only is it the perfect place to live, it’s a connection with his grandfather that is too precious to lose. But the deadline to sign away the property is approaching. How can Ari speak up for his hopes, for his grandfather, and for the land itself?

This book is filled with the most unexpected plot twists and turns it drags you in one direction then pulls you to the other. It taught me to always trust my friends and if they weren't really my friends they would not do as much as real ones. It does not clearly state this in the story but you must dig to find it but you should read this book if you need to be more confident in your dreams.

Between shadows is a book about a boy named Ari, and once his grandfather dies he inherits the cabin. His aunt and father are trying to sell it, but for Ari that cabin holds many memories. I liked this book, but I think that it could have gone a bit deeper into the story so you can get exactly why he can't stand to lose the cabin.

Between Shadows was an ok read for me, But I thought a bit more could be described. Sometimes, instead of jumping from one part to the next, there could have been a bit more of a transition, other than that it's good.

  6. I didn't like this book as much as the others, but I did enjoy some parts of it. I really liked how the plot twisted in the end, and how everyone had a real family moment that showed who everyone was like inside. In conclusion, this wasn't my type of book, but I did think it was pretty good.

Between Shadows is a book about a boy named Ari, who after the death of his grandfather, inherits the grandfather's cabin. His dad and aunt want to sell it, but he can't stand to lose all those memories. This was a really good book but they could have added more detail and made the very ending have a bit more. I would recommend this book.

This book is full of surprises, how ever I didn't really enjoy this book, I thought the author could have written a bit more about how Ari felt about wanting to keep his cabin. I also enjoyed the twist at the end and i'm glad that everyone agreed to keep the cabin. This book is a enjoyable read and I would recommend it.

  9. This book was well written and had a good plot but was too short and didn't end vey well. Ari was a very interesting character and his friend were had very likable personalities. Over all this was a good book but if it had a stronger ending it would of made it 10 times better.
