Flynn hates the outdoors. Always has. He barely pays attention in his Outdoor Ed class. He has no interest in doing a book report on Lost in the Barrens. He doesn't understand why anybody would want to go hiking or camping. But when he gets lost in the wilderness behind his parents' friends' house, it's surprising what he remembers insulate your clothes with leaves, eat snow to stay hydrated, build a shelter, eat lichen and how hopelessly inept he is at survival techniques.

I liked this book a lot, at first it is a bit dull, but don't drop it! In the middle it gets exciting and it will keep you hooked, I would definitely recommend it.

Personally, I think that this book is a bit short for you to get what is happening. It kind of just says, he went to visit his friend's new house. He gets lost. He makes a lean-to. He gets rescued. This book was funny, but I think the author could have written a bit more about what he did.

  3. I didn't like this book as much as the others. It didn't have anything to grab your attention, and was just talking about how he got lost in the woods, got hurt, and then made it back home. It didn't really have anything special that made you love it. And all Flynn did was complain, miss his phone, and try to survive. But in some parts of the book, I did enjoy it, like when he was thinking about what to do, after being in the forest for a while. In all, I didn't enjoy this book, but I'm sure someone who likes survival, and realistic books would like it.

Lost in the backyard was not purticularily my favourite. Although it was very descriptive and it painted a picture in my mind. I enjoyed the way the author set the scene, it really helped visualize the senario. It was the perfect size and it had lots of different characters, but it didn't have a very strong plot and it could have had more of a impacting ending

  5. Lost in the Backyard was a pretty good book. It's about a kid who hates nature, goes to his parents' friends' house in the wilderness, gets lost in the forest for a couple days, complains about his dead phone and then goes back to civilization by eventually getting rescued by a bus which he finds. This book was funny, but it wasn't my favourite one. I would recommend this to people who like humour and the outdoors.

This book was really good it was full of suspense and action. the only thing I did not like about the book is that there are big gaps throughout the story. But rather then that it's a good book.

Lost in the backyard was a really enjoyable book! I love how they made Flynn's personality like they did, but 1 thing that the author can improve on is the beginning. The beginning did not really draw me in as much as ISR or Masterminds. 7/10

Personally i did not enjoy this book. The reason i do not like this is because this book is very slow and very boering. it took till the 5 chapters for things to start happening and that's not my kind of book.
