This book looks like it will promise a bunch of horrifying, fear-inducing tales, but really it is not that bad. It only had one story that really stuck with me. I don't know if you like horrifying stories or not, so I can't say this is good for everyone or not.

I didn't really like this book. I don't really like scary stories or movies in general, but when I read this I had a hard time believing it was true and thought the witnesses could be hallucinating. I actually was more creeped out by Masterminds and The Swallow than this book. But I guess it was ok, because it had a variety of stories from all across Canada. Overall, I don't love this book, but I might recommend this to a few people (who are really scared of horror maybe, because it wouldn't be too scary for them.)

  3. It was fun reading this book, and I think it is pretty well written. I like how it explains where every haunted story is from, but it was pretty hard to believe that those mysterious things actually happened. It is a lot like "the Swallow", another silver birch book, in the fact that they are both ghost stories with angry ghosts in them. In conclusion, i liked this book, but wouldn't consider it my favorite.

This book was great! It was really well written and helped me learn a lot about Canadian history. The stories were really spooky and unlocked new mysteries through every page, as well some of the stories took place in places I had visited and that helped paint a picture in my mind.

Some stories were scary and well written, but some were really unrealistic.

This book was really great even though there were some unrealastic and not-horrifying stories. It still gave me some chills!
